Money Saving Tips

Traveling can be expensive.  We all would love to see the world, but there is only so much money to go around.  What if there were ways you could take a dream vacation without breaking the bank?  This is not a section on how to go on a low-budget vacation.  Dan did one of those when he was 25 years old, but, at our age, we want a little comfort.  Instead, this section is devoted to saving a few dollars here and there so that you can take a dream vacation and still go on another vacation the next year.

Learn From Our Mistakes

Sometimes, we do everything right in planning and following through our vacation plan.  Sometimes, we run into unexpected disappointments.  Sometimes, the best efforts would not have gotten a better result, like when the trolley was shut down in San Francisco (can you believe it?!??).  Other times, a little research would have gone a long way, like needing reservations to go see the redwoods near San Francisco.  We did our research but, sometimes, details get lost in the guidebooks.  That’s were we come in.  We point out the one to three must dos you gotta do before you go.

Fun Stuff!!!!

Jelly Belly Factory near Napa! Hike up and down the trails along the waterfalls in Finger Lakes, New York!  Secret trails!  Places the locals go to!  While we will certainly point out the local touristy things, we search for the other stuff.

Stay Safe!!

Unfortunately, not every place is super-safe.  Some vibrant international cities that boast world-class accommodations, attractions, restaurants and parks, also have horrific crime.  While staying away is an option, that would mean missing out on the skyscrapers of New York City and Chicago, as well as the amazing waterfronts of Miami.  With a few safe practices, you can see the world while reducing your chances of becoming a victim of crime away from home.
